The Day Always Seemed So Far Away

Cutest nieces ever!
Well, it's finally that day, where I enter the MTC to start "the best two years" of my life. I don't doubt that will be true looking back, but I am beyond scared to start my mission. Leaving some of the best friends in the world, like Kevin, and of course Kylie, and many others. But it's finally here.

Tomorrow I start my mission for the Lord to Chile, Concepcion South. I know it is what I need to do right now. And although I may be crying out my body weight in tears, it truly is what I need to do. I know the Lord loves each and every one of us, and although we may feel like we have hit rock bottom, He never leaves our side. Even in times of great weakness, He is there for us. He paid for every sin we have committed and the ones we will commit, so He knows our pains like no one else could ever understand. He is the ultimate shoulder to cry on. He will never give up on us. And He lives.

I want everyone to know that I know that my Redeemer lives, and He loves us all unconditionally. He has given us so much, and will continue to give us even more, two years of service for Him is so small compared to what He has given us. I know this will be the biggest trial in my life up to this point, and I am scared to death of that, but I know a full heart dedicated to the Lord will conquer the hardest moments in our lives. Turn to the Lord because that is what I will be doing.
Andrew and Elder Kyle Allen, MTC 10/20/2010 12:45PM MST
I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know Joseph Smith received the gold plates, and through inspiration translated them. I know without a doubt, that this is what I need to do right now in my life. I will be praying for all of you, because without you, I would not be the person I am today. I love you all.

Stay Classy,
Elder Kyle Allen

  1. Kyle you are going to have a great mission, but I'll miss our late night gtalks tons. I know you'll grow so much and I am so proud of you already for making this choice. I wish you well!
